Audio Books
Audio books are recordings of spoken words rather than
music. By definition, they are not necessarily simply an audio version
of a book. The term is used to describe the aural format of the words
rather than a version of text.
For the visually impaired, audio books provide a way to listen to the
text. They are also useful for other individuals who may have no problem
seeing text but experience difficulty holding a book or turning its
pages.
Audio books may also be useful to those learning to read. This is helpful
for both beginners and advanced readers. A beginner can be focused on
developing basic skills, while a more practiced reader may be interested
in picking up new vocabulary with correct pronunciation.
